Government Employees in Lampung Indonesia Prohibited from Accepting Eid Parcels

Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - The State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) is prohibited from receiving parcels or gifts in any form during the Eid al-Fitr celebration.

"Although there is no new circular yet, it seems that the policy is still the same as the previous year. Civil servants are not allowed to accept Eid parcels," said Assistant I for Government and Welfare Affairs of the Lampung Provincial Government, Qodratul Ikhwan when asked for a statement, Tuesday (4/4/2023).

Qodratul explained that for the issuance of the Circular (SE) of the Governor of Lampung concerning the prohibition on receiving parcels for ASN, he was still waiting for the SE to be issued by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri).

"As for the Governor's SE, it will usually be issued if there is an SE from the Minister of Home Affairs or other Ministers. So we'll just have to wait and then we just have to follow up on the instructions," he said.

Confirmed separately Member of Commission I DPRD Lampung Province, Watoni Noerdin, also asked ASN not to accept parcels or gifts in any form because this is the same as gratuity.

"Of course, if there are rules, ASN may not accept gifts because it is included in gratuities. So this is what ASN must understand and also supervise," he said.

He explained that the Lampung Provincial Government through the Inspectorate had to carry out supervision. In addition, ASNs who receive prizes are also asked to report to the Inspectorate.

"When you receive it, you must report it because this is a form of ASN discipline. Usually the KPK will also issue a circular later," he said.

Meanwhile based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 53 of 2010 concerning PNS Discipline. Civil servants are prohibited from accepting any gifts or gifts from anyone related to their position or work.

If civil servants are caught receiving Eid parcels, they can be subject to severe disciplinary punishment. Article 7 states that the type of demotion can be in the form of demotion to a lower level for three years.

Then transfer in the context of demotion to a lower level, release from office, respectful discharge not at his own request as a civil servant, and dishonorable dismissal as a civil servant. (*)
