Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - Dozens of Bumiputera customers muttered and sealed the Lampung Bumiputera Regional Office on Jalan Radin Intan, Bandar Lampung, Monday 5 June 2023.

Dozens of customers who are members of the Indonesian Bumiputera Victims Association also staged demonstrations related to the rejection of the reduction in the value of benefits paid by the company.

In addition, they also claimed to have been harmed by the company because they had not received their rights.

During the action, representatives of the demonstrators also had an audience with the Lampung Bumiputera Regional Office. However, it does not find a conclusion or a middle point.

The Chairman of the Coordinator of the Lampung Indonesian Bumiputera Victims Association, Victor Nainggolan, said that his party and several customers felt disadvantaged by the company's policy, where the company did not coordinate when issuing a 50 percent cut in funds claimed by customers.

"So today, as many as 37 of our customers held a demonstration to demand the company disburse 100 percent of the benefit value fund which is our right," he said.

Victor revealed, currently there are around 300 customers in Lampung who are handled by his party because they feel disadvantaged by company policies.

"Essentially we ask the company to disburse 100 percent of our rights, not 50 percent. Our rights are that each person has at least IDR 5 million, a maximum of IDR 2 billion," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Lampung Bumiputera Region, Hendra Sirwan, said that his party would submit complaints from customers to the central leadership. He revealed that currently the company's budget is insufficient because it is experiencing a slump.

"Bumiputera has responsibilities to all policyholders worth IDR 32.8 trillion, while the assets are only around IDR 9.5 trillion," he said.

This is the basis for companies not being able to disburse 100 percent of customer funds.

"This 50 percent cut is the result of a study, both from internal and external parties of Bumiputera including from the World Bank. Because there is a difference of IDR 23.5 trillion, it was decided to reduce the value of this benefit so that customers can still get their rights rather than not at all," he concluded. (*)
