The Acting Head of Perum Bulog Regional Office of Lampung, Nurman Susilo said, the total stock of rice in the warehouse is 22,413 tons and this amount is safe to meet public consumption until the end of 2023.

He explained, currently his party is still absorbing grain at the farmer level in order to maintain rice reserves. So far, 22,514 tons of unhusked rice have been successfully absorbed.

"This absorption is to maintain food reserves. We are also continuing to distribute rice to the public through the Food Supply and Price Stabilization program, which amounts to 16,874 tons," said Nurman, when questioned, Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Lampung Province Food Crops and Horticulture Office, Bani Ispriyanto, said that Lampung Province had a rice surplus of 800 thousand tons.

"Our rice has a surplus of 800 thousand tons if the production target is 3.2 million. And this is enough to meet the people's needs until the end of the year," said Bani.

He also revealed that Lampung Province has prepared rice barns in villages which number up to 300 barns.

"We have also prepared 300 rice barns in the villages. We are currently monitoring rice barns to prepare our rice reserves," he concluded. (*)
